Nothin' but an April Fool

Well I wish the weather would make up it's stinkin' mind. Gets all warm, then turns cold. Warm, cold, warm, cold. Oh well, at least we get to spring back this weekend. Or is it fall forward? I can never remember.

So of course there were all kinds of silly, obvious April Fool's jokes all over the web yesterday. Google had a couple of good ones, like this one for a job posting on the moon, and this one where they issued a press release for a free email service with 1GB of storage. Who could fall for that one? What? It's real? I guess April 1st isn't the best day to announce something like that. Also there are apparently a bunch of privacy concerns about the new service.

Then there was the other big April fools joke a day late, where Sun and Microsoft announced they had settled their differences and joined forces. Huh? That's real too? I must be losing my sense of humor due to old age!

So, I hate spam. So do you. I think I've finally found a filtering tool that is going to work for me. DSPAM is filtering with an accuracy of just over 95%. It was not easy to setup, and it took awhile to get that level of accuracy (you have to train it) but it's much more effective for me than SpamAssassin ever was. The best I ever seemed to get with it was maybe 50%.

I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'm looking forward to vacation. And I'm also looking forward to the Tour in May. But right now, most of all, I'm looking forward to dinner.
