So we saw "The Village" Friday night. It has gotten mixed reviews (none of which I saw until afterwards). Donna and I went with another couple and we all really enjoyed it. Donna said it's her favorite M. Night Shamalamadingdong movie (yeah, right, like I can remember how to spell his name). The list of movies in which this one ranks in the top for her includes "Sixth Sense", "Unbreakable" and "Signs" . In fact, her exact ranking goes: The Village, Signs, Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. My ranking goes: Signs, Sixth Sense, The Village, Unbreakable. Which means I thought it was pretty good, and nowhere near as bad as
some of the critics suggest.
We saw I, Robot a few weeks ago. It was OK for a mindless action flick. Against my better instincts, I think I want to go see The Manchurian candidate. I immensely enjoyed the original and this one probably won't be nearly as good, but, well, I just can't help myself. Also want to see "The Bourne Supremacy", but, since most of the reviews I've seen have been favorable, it will probably suck. What a bummer.
